Community Events
Community events are a great way for Indulgers all over the UK to connect In Real Life.

Before you go any further, ask yourself WHAT you want to organise, WHERE you will hold it, and HOW you will gather an audience.

For our part, we will post details on our facebook group, meet-up page and website. But it's really up to you to gather interest!

Oh! And we'll make sure the events are run by people we know and can trust. Not randoms.
HOST YOUR OWN EVENT
A really, really handy how-to guide.
1) LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

Find a venue! You can ask a local pub, church hall, club..choose somewhere you find comfortable and people can travel to. Look for chairs (without armrests), parking, distance from public transport.

Ask the management if you can use it and if they need a fee or minimum spend. TagVenue is also pretty good as a resource.

2) BOOK IT, DANNO!

You really need a 'if you build it, they will come' attitude. There's no point in polls when you want to do something, otherwise everyone will click ALL the buttons. That way madness lies. If you're not too sure, just ask the venue to hold the space until you feel confident enough to confirm.

To be on the safe side, it's always best to give it a month to build up interest if it's IRL. Online might be slightly different.

3) WHAT'S THAT BUZZ? TELL ME WHAT'S HAPPENING!

Tell everyone about it! Put it on facebook, social media, talk to people...we'll do out best but it's your baby. Remember to budget and think about the cost of any materials, resources and venue fee you've had to pay for. You can ask for a ticket fee on the night, but if it's a lot, you'll need to gather a lot of people, cos Indulge will not be held responsible for the costs.

4) TURN UP.

This might sound ridiculous, but yes - you will need to be there and you will need to talk to people and make them feel welcome. If people turn up and you're not there, then I'm afraid this will make you persona non grata at Indulge events.

What can you do? Up to you! Bingo nights, bowling, D&D, games nights, cinema, theatre, comedy nights, clothes swaps...or anything else - on or offline. You're in charge.
